JAVIER MONTALVO

javier

Javier joined the NEDC team in June of 2015, relocating from Oregon with his wife and family. He has been an Elementary school teacher, a Home Inspector, and a Restaurant Owner among other things, contributing to a vast experience in business, teaching, and the construction industry. A small business owner of JML Real Estate Services, Javier offered home inspections, purchased homes in need of remodeling and then supervised the remodeling process, even producing promotion and marketing for the company at the same time.  He really enjoys working with and helping people, which is what drives and motivates him. Javier is a great asset to our company! Here are a few questions we asked Javier!

Where are you from and how did you get here?

I am from Quito – Ecuador. I moved to the United States pursuing professional interest and I was offered a job.

How would you define your professional style?

I’m laid back but effective. I like things done right. When I deal with clients, I treat them the same way I would like to be treated.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

My grandfather, Luis Luzuriaga. He was integral part of my formation and I try to module my performance after his great example. He changes peoples lives in many ways, even through simple conversation. He was a hard worker, very smart and a successful business man. A very kind man.

What does value mean for you?

As a design builder I think as value in terms of client satisfaction and happiness. To me, it goes well beyond re-sale value. It has everything to do with seeing that home owner, couple or family loving their home and building great long lasting memories.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Life is short, don’t worry about the past. Live the present, enjoy life, and build your tomorrow.

Tell me about what your life will look like in 10 years

Enjoying any activity I choose to do. Traveling the world and dedicating time and effort to help others as well. I have teenage kids, so perhaps a first grandchild? Scary but possible.

What’s your spirit animal?.

The horse
