plankchair2As the summer continues, many people are finding their outdoor spaces bare and lacking in function and aesthetics. Trying to decide on the right furniture for your outdoor space may be challenging when the actual space is small. NOT ALL FURNITURE IS OVERSIZED…. Eric Pfeier, a San Francisco designer took a modern approach to the Adirondack chair in his Plank collection.

He has offered two types of seating: a lounger and a side chair. Conveniently, these chairs can be stacked six high, making it easy to create more space when entertaining fewer people. As for the design of the chair, Mr. Pfeier directed the wooden planks vertically rather than the traditional Adirondack chair which is horizontal.

This creates beautiful lines that relate to the outdoor environment, while the natural wood fits with the natural landscape outdoors. If the design is to organic looking, spice up your backyard with colorful landscapes and touches of color in lighting and throw pillows.
