By nature, remodeling is invasive into the private lives of our clients. As wonderful as we are, there will be days when you’re going to wish nobody was in your home. We want you to feel comfortable with and enjoy the people that you’ll come in contact with daily, so here is a quick introduction to our team members.
David Supple- Chief Executive Officer
David is a graduate of Tufts University with a degree in architecture. In California, he trained as an architect for three years, designing, directing, and managing 50- 100,00 square foot renovations. He founded New England Design & Construction in 2005 and became incorporated in 2006, and rapidly expanded the company to servicing the Greater Boston Area. He is an aspiring comedian but currently he only practices with his wife.
Kara Wilson – Brand Manager
Kara joined the New England Design & Construction team in the summer of 2013. Previously she had been employed in the sales and marketing industry, even though she attended school at the Academy of Art University for Interior Architecture and Design. Her past work experience with a commercial architecture firm and passion for architecture combined with her more recent sales and marketing experience made her an ideal fit for NEDC. She is a LEED Accredited Professional, plays the electric viola, and makes art in her spare time.
Bradley Cashin - Business Development Manager
Brad has been creating dwellings with pen, paper and Legos since he can remember, but began formally working as a carpenter in the construction industry in high school. Originally he began his studies in Construction Management at Eastern Michigan University, but after 9/11 Brad decided to serve in the US Army. Once that was complete Brad returned to school, and “stumbled” into an architectural history course and fell in love with the notion of the positive effect the built environment can have on both individuals and a society. He found that he preferred finding design-oriented solutions by utilizing his extensive construction background and combining the old with new and interacting with clients that really care about the investment in their home and family. Brad buys books faster than he can read them and fears that by the time he gets around to building his own home, he will need extra structural support just to hold the weight of his library. He is currently finishing his thesis at Boston Architectural College.
Diana Pauro - Design Director
Diana has been passionate about designing since 2006 when she started as an architectural intern in her hometown in Argentina. She holds a Masters Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning and worked as registered architect in her country doing custom homes and commercial projects until she met her life partner and moved to the US in 2016. She joined the NEDC Team in March of 2017 and enjoys helping our clients to have the home they want. In her spare time she and her partner run a design objects brand and learn new crafts.
Jamaal Siddiqui - Senior Designer
Jamaal is an award winning graduate of the Boston Architectural College with a degree in architecture. He has been chasing his dream of becoming a successful and well rounded designer from early childhood. He has over a decade of experience of working on residential, commercial and religious projects at an architectural firm. His thirst for design lead him to do multiple award winning design + build projects in his spare time. When he is not designing he is traveling the world with his wife and annoying her with architectural facts about the area.
Abby Woodman - Designer
Abby holds a Masters degree in Interior Architecture and Design from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Before studying design, Abby received her Bachelors in Natural Science from St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH. Her varied interests give Abby a keen eye for detail and process within and around each design. As a New England native, Abby relates to local design sensibilities but is also able to understand the desire for high functioning spaces, bringing in high-design elements that elevate and seamlessly integrate into her projects. Abby has a background not only in residential, but also commercial, office and multi-family projects. In her free time, Abby enjoys baking and cooking, visiting exhibits at local museums, and throwing some punches at Title Boxing.

Lisa Savonen - Design Administrator
Lisa comes to NEDC most recently from Minnesota but originally from California, where her passion for design fueled her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, where she earned her degree in Interior Design. While gaining experience in the real world working at a restaurant design firm, she then earned her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design from Cal State University Fullerton. Her design and philanthropic pursuits eventually led her to Hollywood to work for a world-wide nonprofit organization, designing 50,000 square foot buildings from the Americas to South Africa. This is where she met her future husband, Steve, whom she accompanied to the Midwest and now the East. In her spare time Lisa enjoys walking her cats Eddie and Ella, creating crafts and practicing her voice over imitations.
Steve Savonen - Operations Manager
An experienced world traveler and design professional, Steve brings 30 years of experience to the NEDC team. His interest in people, art, science, construction, and bright futures led to his earning a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He is a Registered Architect in Minnesota, Florida, and Massachusetts. In addition to high-end residential projects, Steve has experience in housing, commercial, hospitality, educational, government, parking and parking structures, medical, cultural and worship design projects located all over the world. Having lived and worked in the Midwest, Florida, Los Angeles, New York, and Madrid, Steve has returned to the Boston area to manage the NEDC design and construction team. If only he could have the same level of success with his needy Abyssinian cats Eddie and Ella that he and his wife Lisa so love!
Daniel Tassinari – Production Director
Dan has been in the construction related trade industry for over 16 years. He is trained in residential remodeling, restoration carpentry and home building. Being a licensed contractor and working under experienced builders allowed him to run projects, crews and expand further into the building field. He has founded multiple companies designing and building his own projects within a diverse range. NEDC initially hired him to produce built in work and custom cabinetry, and after several successful years, Dan joined the team as a Lead Carpenter and executed many successful projects since. He holds a MA CSL, HIC, is a NARI Certified Lead Carpenter, has RRP certification, and OSHA 10.
Mike Banville - Production Coordinator
Mike was first introduced to the design-build method in southern Maine, where he found his passion for complex waterfront properties crafted of natural materials. His past experience in commercial and residential architecture firms and 6+ years of project and construction management make him an asset to NEDC. Mike has grown up on the ocean. You can find him in the summer months chasing his next catch either by boat or beach.
Josh LaPan - Construction Manager
Josh joined the NEDC team with a strong background in skilled carpentry and leadership roles in the retail world. He started in October 2016 as a Project Manager in Training, growing into a Project Manager in early 2017, and transitioning into the Construction Manager by late summer. Josh has both an active Home Improvement Contractor license and Construction Supervisor License. In his free time, he coaches soccer and little league!
Ryan Hayes – Project Manager
Ryan has been with NEDC since March of 2014 as a Lead Carpenter. He learned the carpentry trade from his father as a kid, but has been doing it professionally since 1999. His biggest inspiration is his family and his friends, and his sunny disposition lights up the office every time he comes in. He is a NARI Certified Lead Carpenter, and in 2016 moved in to a position as a Project Manager.
Nick Schwertschlag - Project Manager
Nick has a hybridized background in construction and architecture. He learned carpentry at a young age in his father’s woodworking shop and later took an interest in architectural design. His earliest floor plans can be traced back to when he was eight years old. Nick acquired his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Boston Architectural College and worked professionally as a carpenter and builder during his tenure, specializing in home renovation projects to custom luxury home construction and light commercial work. He has worked professionally as an architect in renovations and new home and commercial construction, however his true passion is on the job site. When he’s not working, he spends time with his daughters and somehow always finds a new remodeling project to take on in his home.
Aaron Newell - Project Manager
Aaron is a Massachusetts native with almost ten years of experience in the residential and commercial construction industry in frame to finish carpentry, as well as 6 years of electrical experience. He attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and graduated with a degree in Construction Management. In his free time, you can find him woodworking, working on cars or motorcycles, and spending his time by the lake.
Gary Brown – Carpenter
Gary joined our team in September 2015 as an invaluable member of our carpentry team. Gary completed the Keefe Technical Post Graduate Program for Carpentry, and has been in the carpentry and remodeling field since high school. His attention to detail and immersion in his craft are what drew us to him, and his solid dependability and quality help him excel at NEDC.
Gustavo Osorio- Carpenter
Gustavo studied in Cali Colombia at a technical and industrial school. At a very early age, his parents noticed his interest in building and encouraged him to develop this skill. He has spent much of his time in New England although he has also lived in Florida. Gustavo has 16 years of experience in the remodeling and construction industries. He specializes in carpentry and has worked hard to learn and put in practice all his skills. He has successfully completed a great variety of jobs, from small residential to large commercial projects. He truly enjoys his job and seeks to continuously improve his skills. When he is on the job, he likes things done right; “quality and satisfaction” is his motto. Gustavo is a family man, he loves his wife and kids and treasures spending time with them. All his hard work and effort is dedicated to the future and well being of his family. Some of his hobbies include traveling, swimming, mountain biking and one day he would like to skydive. It’s on his bucket list!
Marco Silva - Assistant Carpenter
Javier Montalvo - Quality Control Manager
Javier joined the NEDC team in June of 2015, relocating from Oregon with his wife and family. Javier’s enthusiasm for construction, remodeling, and business started at a young age. He gained renovation and construction experience in Florida where Javier purchased homes and supervised remodeling them, provided home inspection services, and completed all the marketing for his business JML Real Estate Services. In Ecuador he designed, remodeled, and became a Restaurant Owner among other things, contributing to his vast experience in business and the construction industry. He attended high school and INDEG Business School in Quito, Ecuador. He really enjoys working with and helping people, which is what drives and motivates him.
Linda Doering - Chief Financial Officer
Linda joined the company in January of 2016. She and her husband moved to New England in 1992 from El Paso, Texas. Linda has extensive experience in accounting, internal audit, rates, ethics, compliance for electric/gas utilities, and interstate gas pipelines. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Texas Christian University, studied accounting at the University of Texas at El Paso and earned an MBA from Northeastern University. In her rare spare time, Linda enjoys reading novels and traveling. Her go to place for a winter vacation would be the warm and beautiful, Caribbean islands.
Elaine Merkel - Office Manager
Elaine has worked as an executive in a variety of corporate and non-profit organizations for almost 40 years. Studying philosophy of science in college, she soon discovered her real interest was in group dynamics and organizational structure. While raising her four children, she established her own company, providing bookkeeping and management consulting services to small businesses throughout the New England area. She joined NEDC in 2017 to pursue her passion for team-building and for establishing company policy and expansion plans. She enjoys long walks, growing plants, creating aesthetic spaces, making music with her husband, and writing poetry.
