Green grass, blooming flowers, and birds returning to rebuild their nests are all part and parcel of spring in New England. It is time to put the winter behind us and start thinking about improving our own nests. Spring is the perfect time to give your home a new, refreshed look. Below you will find tips to give your home a new look easily and inexpensively.
1.Fresh paint is a great way to lighten up a dark room. In choosing colors you can look outside for inspiration. Warm yellows and soft greens can make all the difference bring out the best of your home.2. Bring those garden flowers inside. Crocuses, daffodils, violets and just about any spring flower can be brought inside to add to the décor. Keep it simple and fill a vase with flowers of the same color. Wrap the vase in ribbon of a complimenting color to make a beautiful centerpiece!3. Change out dark window treatments. Bring in light-colored, sheer linens which will allow light to pass through easily. This will brighten your home and give it that warm, spring feel.
4. Window flower boxes are another creative and fairly inexpensive way to spring into a new look. Wooden boxes can be purchased at a local crafts store and painted. Secure them under your windows and fill them with spring flowers. You’ll have the neighbors green with envy!
5. The fireplace is a place which often gets neglected after winter. Cleaning it out and setting up a birch log display with floral arrangements on the mantle can make for an aesthetic accent to your home.
