Dan is doing a dry-layout of the tile for the backsplash to see how it lines up

When I last touched upon the Cambridge Kitchen remodel that Lead Carpenter Dan Tassinari is working on, I mentioned that he had sent me a short video that he had taken of the counter installation that I had missed by mere hours. Here is said video, showing how the counters go in and what a difference it makes visually.

For some reason, when I see these cabinets without counter tops on them, they make me think of a shaved poodle: you know that there should be lots of fuzzy groomed dog hair on the animal, but instead they look like skinny rats. Looking at the kitchen cabinets without the counters just begs for more. Once the counters go in the whole kitchen starts to look like part of a home rather than a construction project.

Additionally, Dan managed to squeeze in another clip for me about the installation of the tile backsplash. You can have a quick look at what happens to the tile after he does a dry layout like I featured in the last blog, which incidentally is the picture shown to the left on this page.

Cool new feature: I learned how to title my videos and apply transitions between clips! Enjoy your slowly upgrading videos.
