Whether you use a fake Christmas tree, a real one, or one you made yourself..https://www.nedesignbuild.com/articles/?p=137 (An interesting way to make your own Christmas tree)

You will have to put up lights and ornaments. To me I personally believe that ornaments can really define your tree and convey your personality very clear. I mean you have to spend so much time decorating and arranging ornaments, a lot of your work is put in. You have such a broad range of choices for ornaments ranging from Santa, round ones, snowflake ones, Angel, so many choices!

You have your typical ornaments that give you that really traditional Christmas look. Typically made out of glass and come with such a large variety of colors. Simply stick some of your lights you have on it and because these kind of ornaments are made from glass and are reflective it really “pops” out when the lights are turned on. Again very simple, clean, and traditional look.

Then we have the people who love themed Christmas ornaments and decorations, Its another way to tell people who you really are. The people who decorated obviously love Mario and they have the skills and craftsmenship to design their own tree instead of buying them. You could literally print out your ornaments and hang them up! I mean why not it is your own tree, don’t make it seem like a drag, make it fun! If your children or loved ones have some kind of favorite cartoon show or some kind of character, you can really show them how much you care by doing something like this!

But besides that, something fun to do with your kids this holiday season is to make some of your own ornaments, You can use some recycled materials or some house hold objects such as bottles, cans, yarn, ribbons, clothes, and others to create your own ornaments.

What I personally like doing now is instead of throwing away used up lightbulbs, I paint mine now! Every year my neice comes over and we usually have our own little crafts weekened and work on little projects. She adores penquins and little animals so she typically makes these animal themed ornaments. Here’s an very good example made by someone

The trick behind these kind of ornaments is again, have some kind of theme. Know what you like and just make them! When we made ours, we like to use paper mache. By applying the paper mache technique it allows kids to paint easier and it dries so much faster. I mean, you know how kids are when they wait for something… It also helps that you can draw on them so kids have an easier time to paint them. So After two or three coats of the base color paint ( Black)  start painting areas like the other colors, such as white. You want to do paint the largest used colors in order and then details last. Then once it’s all painted and dried, just use a paper clip and just wrap it around as a hanger, Viola!

Something that Ive recently started to look into was Origami trees. Very fun, you can find origami animal guides all over the internet and at the end, just tie some kind of string on it and viola, it can be used as an ornament! Or you can be a bit more intricate and put them into differerent glass shaped bottles. You can use any kind of paper to make these things different colors and materials can really bring out the tree!
