Have you ever craved a touch of the ocean’s beauty in your own home?

This Boston artist brings New England’s stunning natural aesthetics indoors for all to enjoy.

You may have heard of her at this point or a have a beautiful piece of her artwork gracing the walls of your Boston home, studio or office.

Rapidly making a name for herself in Boston and New England, Sharin Schober is a halfSpanish, halfGerman contemporary artist currently working and living in Boston’s North End with her husband and two beautiful children With a combined Masters in both business administration and mechanical engineering, this Boston mother of two is now creating art for some of Boston’s biggest names.

Sharin and her family moved from Europe to Boston 6 years ago, and she hasn’t looked back– industriously capturing Boston’s aesthetic and the beauty of New England with brush and camera lens alike.

Outgoing and personable, Sharin’s joy of living clearly shines through in her art—with a contagious laugh and bright smile, her colorful work instantly uplifts any space it graces.

This love for nature and the environment is clearly reflected both in her work with photography, wherein she deftly captures scenes throughout the city, as well as her paintings in which she harnesses light, color and mood.

Sharin expresses in her paintings the beauty of the natural world around her–the beaches along the coast, the sky subtly changing color during the sunset or a storm, as well as the sun shimmering on the ocean are just a few beautiful scenes a New England viewer can recognize on her canvas.

Sharin grew up on the Canary Islands – a region and part of her life that has deeply influenced her style, inspiration and passion for art. The different natural phenomena and colors on the islands and those now found in New England are the baseline for her works.

“The beach and sea are my happy place – most of my work will have sand in it and reflect the peace the ocean and a walk in the sand gives us.

And this is what I’m trying to give the observer of the artworks and art collectors – a moment of tranquility and peace. To be able to stop for a moment and get lost in the structure of my work.”

Sharin works frequently with sand as a medium which gives her art a unique and stunning aesthetic, incorporating and reflecting ambient natural sunlight.

Boston’s array of color is visible clearly in her work—from the sand and ocean to the hues found in a beautiful Boston sunrise and sunset.

Sharin began painting and drawing as a small child–taking several classes with her father and painting with him at home and while travelling together.

Both of her parents opened the door to art very early on, travelling with her and teaching different artistic styles while exposing her to periods of art in history, and varied techniques.  They took her to many museums and art installations worldwide which she loved.

After having children (her little one was born during the Pandemic) Sharin saw how her personal creative process flourished even further – with her two children as her greatest source of inspiration.

When painting, Sharin primarily works with Acrylic, heavy duty paint and mixed media (especially sand) on canvas of any style.

In Sharin’s words,

“Being half Spanish, half German, I grew up on the Canary Islands, Spain and have always loved getting inspiration from nature around the islands. Specially the sea and sky.

My Art is often reflecting experiences from traveling for work and leisure. A camera and sketch book is never missing in my bags.

I have always loved seeing how colors mix and work when combining them on canvas.

How can we create light? How can we create a beautiful flow? How can we get lost in a structure? How can we find peace when looking at art?

That’s why nature around me is always a beautiful source of inspiration. Looking at a sunset, the sky after a rainy day, waves on the ocean, the sun reflecting on water are some color patterns you will find in my work.

I also see the beauty in simple things through the lens of my camera, capturing moments of tranquility in a restaurant or beach.

My work comprises acrylic on canvas in many customized sizes, mixed media art (primarily with sand and paper) and photography on metal.

I would also love to create something beautiful together with you!”
