NEDC attended the Pro NE Awards Ceremony last week in Boston, taking home four Pro NE Awards for architectural design build projects in Boston: A Pro NE Gold Award for Entire Home Over 1.5M and three Pro NE Silver Awards.

Pro New England Gold Award: Entire House Over 1.5M

Location: Wayland, MA

NEDC’s team, led by senior designer Joe Wood, reimagined the home’s main entryway, crafting a grand entrance that seamlessly blends into the lush, wooded landscape surrounding the property. Natural materials such as exposed wood, stone, and metal were used throughout the interior to further enhance the connection between the home and its environment. The color palette of warm walnut, honey oak, soft taupe, and olive green with rust and amber accents ties the spaces together, emphasizing the couple’s love for nature.

This Wayland residence is a perfect representation of thoughtful design, high functionality, and seamless collaboration between architect, builder, and interior designer, resulting in a home that is not only a sanctuary but also a lasting testament to the couple’s shared future.

Pro New England Silver Award: Best Interior Design

This is a beautiful project in Dover, MA — the result of a collaboration between Dane Austin Design and New England Design & Construction.

Tucked deep within the woods, this early 1960s Cape has been beautifully transformed for 21st- century living. A complete renovation—inside and out—enhances both comfort and connection to nature, with reimagined spaces that embrace the home’s serene surroundings. Expansive views of the pond invite glimpses of deer, foxes, and songbirds, while a cozy window seat outside the dining room-turned-library offers the perfect perch for birdwatching. Thoughtfully designed and meticulously updated, this home is poised to bring joy for generations to come.

From concept to completion, this collaboration showcases the power of visionary design, expert craftsmanship, and masterful storytelling through imagery. The client raised her two children in this home over 20+ years, once she became an empty-nester, she decided to make it her own for the next 20 years to come.

Taking better advantage of the views of the pond and natural surroundings, focusing on her love of baking with an expanded kitchen (with two ovens in the kitchen island), reconfiguring the space with a more open floor plan and plenty of storage and display shelves to showcase the artifacts and art she picks up on her travels. She now has a completed space for entertaining and sharing time with her family and loved ones.

Silver Awards: Best Residential Landscape (Partner) / Best Exterior Project

Two additional Silver Awards were garnered in collaboration with A Blade of Grass, one of Boston’s leading landscape architectural design build firms whom we love dearly and have now done over 10 projects with. These were for a lovely project in Wellesley, MA featured in New England Home Magazine:
