Getting lots and lots of emails about how I can add things to my room and how should I do this and that. Today will be the start of our new help section!

“Hi David, I read your last article on blue rooms and I was wondering what you would suggest for something like mine? I’m looking to re furniture my rooms and I’m lacking storage as the closet is getting very packed.  I also tend to have people over and it get’s crowded when we watch T.V. So I was wondering if you had any quick suggestions! Kindest regards” – Joanne

Above is a computer rendered version of the bedroom I did. First have you considered a new layout? I guess the first thing I kind of noticed was how if someone walks in, you kind of come close to your table and It would be annoying. And I’m sure when there’s multiple people over friends or what not, I assume you would use the TV. I mean…why else would you mount a T.V right in front of the bed? Anyways, I propose this.

Now, the flow is a bit more organized so you don’t feel crowded when you have more than 2-3 people over. People can start sitting on your bed like as it was a couch! You’ll be able to fit more of your friends there. Also now that the computer desk is also there, you don’t need to roll your chair around as like a portable nightstand. I suggest you get something like this.

I believe mine cost less that 20 dollars, comes in all shape and sizes and colors. I have a blue one 🙂 But the thing is you can store other little things in there such as socks and electronic and such in there. They aren’t all clear so you don’t have to worry about privacy. You put it right next to your bed, meaning you can use the top part to hold your laptop also.  For things you don’t really need, they sell bigger flat bins too so you can just toss them under your bed.

I would Also align your picture along the wall by the computer desk. ( new layout) That way when you are hard at working typing your paper and essays, when you take a break it feels like your friends and family are always around you. And since you moved everything consider getting some kind of scenic picture for that back wall where the computer table used to be. Examples below..

So, since your wall is green maybe you can try some kind of meadow wallpaper? Like green fields and open blue sky.

I would start thinking about getting blue wallpaper and overlay part of the green wall. You can literally buy any kind of decal possible from clouds, flowers, trees, and well… GEESE! Literally try to make your own wallpaper 🙂

All these are less than 10 dollars. Very inexpensive, just check amazon for ” flower wall decal” or ect……

Now, I really don’t like how your table is organized. Consider getting fabric drawers, very cheap and affordable. They are very lightweight and fold-able, so if you don’t wish to use them anymore just store them away. The thing is, your table seems very very cluttered, there’s wires everywhere and then there’s no actual cabinet doors to hide all the stuff you threw in there. By getting fabric drawers you can just throw everything in there and stack them on top of each other. Makes it more clean and organized. You want to make sure you don’t have cords everywhere like on top of your black drawers. I would clean it up so only pictures of family and friends are on it.

Then, you also talked to me about how it’s so cold in your room. Well, by placing the bed along the wall, it gives you direct sunlight from  both the windows. Also Remember to leave your curtains open as much as possible. I recommend buying some thermal insulated curtains or shades , they help trap the heat in and block drafts more efficiently. Now for flooring I would get a cheap shag rug. Shag rugs are quite inexpensive, they won’t cover the entire floor but the idea is that since the bedroom can be laid out in one side of the room, you’ll only be on one side. You can now just cover one side and not the entire floor.

Finally for colors…… besides making everything match your walls white and yellow goes very well together. In Feng shui, green symbolizes life and health. So it brings relaxation, re freshness, and calmness. Although it has a lot of positive aspect, too much green can result in growth in life and health it might promote sickness. That is why you want to balance it. Don’t over power the green. The stuff I mentioned, try using a tanish kind of yellow or like a dull shade. The shade on your bed sheet is fine, I would mix and match you’re things like that.
