The NEDC Experience: By Project Manager Paul Ledoux
If you have ever met Paul Ledoux he is instantly memorable. An experienced character–one who has lived life and been places. His experience shines through a gleam in his eye, a quick smile and an easy story about many things–often delivered with humor and a laugh. He is a figure of Boston–candid, competent and direct. The kind of person you would want on your side if the world ever went sidewise.
As you get to know Paul, he is a man of many talents. An accomplished musician with a passion for music who plays the guitar, sings and tours on weekends.
As a contractor, carpenter and a man who seemingly knows all–Paul has worked in the construction industry for nearly five decades. A Clint Eastwood of the Built Environment who can both act and direct…Paul is skilled as a craftsman while also able to run entire projects, which he does.

I interviewed Paul on the NEDC experience and what it is like being a Project Manager for NEDC in Boston. We did this on site at a whole-home gut remodel in Cambridge, MA which he has overseen since day one. It is now coming to a beautiful conclusion for clients we love.
This is what he shared:
“My name is Paul Ledoux–I’m a Project Manager. I’m very proud to be working at NEDC.
I was a contractor myself for many many many years. Someone came and asked me to interview–I did. I was very very impressed with the company and when they asked me to join them, I said yes and haven’t regretted it for a second–It’s been great.
The way that NEDC is different is I love the support you get from the rest of the staff.
You have Design Department that’s always there to answer questions for you. It’s in house, so you get immediate responses, immediate replies. You get backup for your management, your materials gathering–anything that you can’t figure out yourself instantly, you can get help with it. It’s great. You never have to stumble around blindly. There’s so much backup support, it’s fantastic.
Typically, a Project Manager is running two or three jobs at the same time. I have two going right now–so you come in, you meet with the people who are going to be on the job that day, go over what they want to do, answer any questions they have, see if there’s any materials that they don’t have that they might need. You go to the job and you do the same thing with people that are there. You talk with them, see if there’s any questions, any problems, any difficulties. You’re a problem solver basically, but just trying to keep everybody moving forward and everybody knowing what they’re doing and everybody moving along smoothly.
Someone would thrive in NEDC if they were a person who had experience, who had knowledge of the job, who had integrity and honesty and liked working in that kind of environment and with those type of people. That type of person would love working with NEDC.
First of all, you’re not totally on your own. You have the Design Department backing you up. You have the Administrative Department backing you up. So, it’s just easy to make clients happy. When things are smooth like that, when you don’t have an answer to a question that a client has, you can get it instantly. You don’t have to say, “Let me get back to you in a couple weeks.” You can say, “Let me make a phone call.” And give them an immediate response. And clients love that.
Clients love the fact that you give them a lot of attention. You have a lot of attention to the details and you’re getting the job done.
I love the fact that it’s such a great group–like every single person in the company seems to be on the same page. We all want the same thing which is to get great products, lift spirits with spaces, make our clients happy with a very good quality work and very good delivery of the job.
I just would recommend NEDC to anybody whether they’re a person looking to do a remodel on their home or a person looking for a great experience as a job. This is a great place to be. I am really happy being here.”
