Did you know , most of the wasted time in the kitchen, is actually from looking and searching for ingredients and kitchenware?

What really separates one kitchen from the other is how organized it is. Besides all the pretty fine hardwood cabinets and fine counter tops, take a step back, and reorganize your kitchen

Step one

Start out by grouping things into 2 categories, things used and don’t use. That way you know what you should  throw out or keep. Get rid of anything old expired ingredients and things you honestly don’t eat or use. Chances are if you haven’t finished a box of cereal in the past couple months, probably means you hated it and just left it there.

Then, you can further separate things into categories, like what type of food they are, like snacks, sauces, ingredients, spices, and etc. Keep things grouped and organized.

Step two

Take a look and track, where and how your position yourself when cooking , meaning where do you actually do the cooking and where you prepare certain food. That way you know where you SHOULD locate your spices and such. This makes things a lot more efficient.

Example, things like spices should be right in front of you or to a cabinet on the side close to you. Maybe you even have a spice rack right out for even more convenient visibility. Many styles to choose from, modern or rustic look

Then maybe when you prepare your kids lunch or your own lunch you can keep things in a separate location like a side counter with cabinets on top or nearby.

When placing your items, place old items up front and newer things in the back ( grocery stocking tip) You want to get rid of old things first because or else you would be wasting money.

What I also find helpful is keeping a notepad/pen nearby or even inside cabinet. When you’re looking for ingredients and you notice you’re running out, simply make a note, and next time when you out shopping, you already have a list.
