After a 10 week course of study and countless hours, Brad can add CKBR to the end of his name, and to his list of accomplishments.  A Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR) accreditation  draws notice to a remodeling professional’s superior knowledge, technical comprehension, and skill in remodeling with an emphasis in kitchen and bathroom remodeling. In addition, the remodeler must also adhere to NARI’s strict Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. The certification program assess the knowledge and skills of the professional in over 20 remodeling task areas. Some of the focuses include business practices, building codes, construction law, architectural planning, building site layout, and all trades skills required in remodeling a home.

According to the EM NARI website, the following conditions must be followed to qualify for a CKBR designation:

  • Be employed by or own a firm engaged in remodeling kitchens and bathrooms
  • Adhere to NARI’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
  • Have a minimum of five years continuous experience in the remodeling industry
  • Have completed 4 kitchens and/or bathrooms per year
  • Successfully complete a comprehensive application that details their background and experience
  • Successfully complete a one-day written examination on business, construction, and remodeling practices related to kitchen and bathrooms
  • Submit all required application materials and fee

Congratulations Brad!
