This Cambridge family purchased a two-floor condo in strong need of updating and complete remodeling. NEDC worked with this client to identify the highest impact spaces to change, and worked with the clients’ priorities to create a new home for them to live in and love. The kitchen was completely remodeled with everything new, creating an efficient place to cook with upgraded storage, as well as including the pantry and remodeling and upgrading the existing built-in. The entrance to the kitchen from the dining room was enlarged, with the opening brought all the way to the ceiling to improve the flow and sight lines through the space. The guest bathroom on the first floor was also gut-remodeled to create a clean, bright, and airy space. On the second floor, an existing closet in the master bedroom was reconfigured to create a small linen closet accessible from the main hallway, and an additional reach-in closet within the master bedroom. The existing master bath was reconfigured to create space for a second floor laundry area, with all plumbing updated and reconfigured. A beautiful all-glass shower was installed, creating a wonderful open space in an otherwise limited floor plan. One of the existing bedrooms was converted into a giant walk-in closet with built-in shelving.
